Fine dining in Taipo, part II

On Kwong Fuk Road there is a new pub that's been opened for about two months. It used to be an Irish themed bar (with Hong Kong characteristics) called Rosie O'Something or other. Now they have re-done the whole place, lots of windows, and one side of the pub opens out to the pavement so you can kind of, you know, check out the geriatrics wandering out from the nursing home on the other side of the road.

I've walked past it many times and have always thought it's called "20 20 Bar and Restaurant", as suggested by the huge sign hanging outside. A couple of nights ago B and I went there for a drink and on the menu it's printed "SO SO Bar and Restaurant" instead. Is the manager dyslexic?

Turns out that the owner's last name is "So", hence "SO SO". But then after having decided on the name, he reckoned calling a bar "so-so" sounded a bit, er, uninspiring ? So, some brilliant mind thought hey! Let's reverse the "S" instead! Unpronounceable? Hell yes! But definitely a lot more inspiring!

This was all explained to me by the owner's sister. I wasn't sure what to make of it. At first it seemed to make some kind of sense. But then soon after, I decided that none of it makes any sense at all.

We had a few beers and B ordered Thai chilli chicken wings - only to realise, upon the arrival of said chicken parts, that by wings, they actually meant feet. Haa hah!

Well at least they have been de-boned!
