The good life

Damn! Missed Jarvis Cocker who sat in for Marc Riley last Saturday. Somehow the show is not archived which is strange, usually they are for the past couple of weeks or so. Damn.

************************

It has to be one way or the other - either you embrace change, face it with all the courage you can gather, or you live your life in the past. Whether it takes more guts to do one or the other, I can't really say.

Some people are better at it than others. Taking myself as the centre of the universe, whichever direction I choose to radiate the scope of analysis, change is everywhere, and my conclusion is the same. Problems arise when people refuse to deal with change. Whether you do so by pretending it is not happening, or by drumming up any number of reasons to convince yourself and others that whatever is happening is wrong and dangerous and undesirable, or by telling yourself that somehow you are different - change for other is good, it just ain't so for you.

Look at France. Look at the US. Look at China. Look at Hong Kong. Look at me. Look at you.

Either you do, or you don't. There is no half way point. No humpty dumpty.

The good life, is to resign to the fact that life changes. It is created to be that way. It is natural, and whether that is good or not, is entirely up to you. Writing this, this very minute, makes me want to cry.
