Splashed out on a Cannondale mountain bike on Saturday. I have this idea/fantasy that I will start cycling to get fit. I tried to remember the last time I rode a bike - it must have been at least ten years ago when Nadia was trying to teach me to ride one on Winchester Road in Oxford. I think I still have a picture of that somewhere.

Okay I can't really ride a bike. Not yet. I fell a few times last night and have now got big bruises on both legs. But I'll keep going. That is too expensive and too beautiful a piece of work to be left hanging on the bike tower!
