Squashy
Lost another post the other night! Bloody Blogger! Wrote that Monday, when I experienced kindness from strangers and people I don't know too well. It was quite moving, really. Anyhow, that was pretty much the gist of it. Not an awful lot of swearing nor dirty jokes so you didn't miss anything.
It felt like a fucking furnace out there AGAIN today.
Took the boys to T's place and me and T played squash for an hour. And we totally sucked! Not squashy at all; our moves were more like a bastardized hybrid of badminton, table-tennis, tennis, and field hockey, with a touch of ballet thrown in here and there. But still, no one was watching, it gets your heart rate up in an air-con environment and it's free so can't really complain. Felt really knackered even more so after squash and so decided not to go for the run tonight.
Which turned out to be not such a bad thing, perhaps, since the thunderstorms were out again tonight. Anyway, I had a nap after we got home and I woke up feeling really bad and lazy and guilty for not going to the run, so I decided to go for a little jog around the park, which turned into a slow run to the waterfront park and back, getting home just before it started to rain. My lungs felt really good although mentally I was still feeling exhausted from I'm not sure what.
It's funny, though. Some days my lungs feel real strong but my legs would feel and behave like jelly. Some days my legs would be willing but the lungs or the mind won't be. More often the case is when my mind is really all fired up to go for a good strong long run but both lungs and legs fail me.
Felt really slow tonight though, didn't time myself but I probably wasn't imagining it that speedwise I was on a par with the C9 joggers/power walkers out in full force. It's so much easier on the treadmill. Yeah, so much more boring too.

- but some days, the heart, the lungs, the legs and everythign all just click and start t omove and you have a wonderful run. And you need all the crap miles and the boring miles to make you fit for the one run in a blue moon that's perfect, and that makes it all worth it...
